After several years of conversations, your many thoughtful suggestions, and in-depth research, we are delighted to announce our newly revised Four Great Vows. We are trying these out on a trial basis for a month, to let us get used to the new language, let it settle in a bit, and see how it feels before we finalize anything.
We are very grateful for your interest and involvement. This has been an important move to bring these vows up to date with who and where we are now, while at the same time maintaining an intimate connection to how the vows were first conceived in the Buddha’s original teachings.
As always, your feedback is welcome.
The Four Great Vows
Sentient beings are numberless; we vow to awaken as one.
Greed, hatred, and ignorance are endless; we vow to transform them.
The teachings are infinite; we vow to realize them all.
The Buddha way is inconceivable; we vow to attain it.
