Community Engagement

The direction of our Zen practice is two-fold: in every moment, wake up to present moment reality and help others.

Taking this practice off the cushion and into the community, our Community Engagement Group facilitates a variety of group volunteer activities.

We invite you to join us! How much more quickly and easily we clear a forest walk of invasive blackberries and ivy than one person working alone! How much more fun it is to feed a group of teenagers together than alone!

When we act together and bring our collective energy, compassion and wisdom to the task at hand, we are more than the sum of the parts. We become intimate with our community. And as we help each other, we help everyone.

If you’d like to stay informed about volunteer activities at Blue Heron via email, sign up for our Activity Notification List.

If you’re a member and would like to suggest an activity, please let us know.
